glennny
Forum postThis is wonderful! At the listening party, I was one of the guys calling out the Replacements similarity. I’d like to hear more variance in the drums. This is a very well written song. Great vocal performance!
I had a long long road ahead of me
If I could just outrun the past
Just another age-old lesson
I hadn't learned
I thought I'd see you here
Cause I could swear that this is hell
But maybe every demon
Doesn't get a turn
Maybe at the end
Who we are is not how we burn
I left you at your wake in Kansas City
I put them in the ground in New Orleans
If it takes a killer to guard against a killer
I should have been the man of your dreams
But I was too late
I was too late
I don't know why I kept looking
You were gone as gone could be
But in every mirror
I kept seeing your face
I can't forget you lying there
A few days since I'd lost you
And your mother sobbing through
Amazing Grace
Dead echoes winding through
Our empty place
I hit them hard and found them wanting
I hit the border going ninety miles an hour
For all this violence it should amount to something
If it ever really was within my power
I was too late
I was too late
And I pray to god
When I face the firing squad
They aim as well me
I was too late
And now I'm paying
When the time comes to read off my sins
And I've seen my final sunrise
They're not as good without you, anyway
Should I get a last request
I'd sing your name until I starved
But if we could share a cigarette, that'd be okay

Manhattan Glutton
You two blokes seem to know what you are doing and doing it well. It is only personal taste that has put you so low. It is not you - it's me.
Very 80s, especially the lead tone. Wash this in more reverb and I'd feel compelled to put on black eyeliner. Well, maybe not, but you know. I like the beltng vocals.
