Banshee
à tous les monsieurs

Wail in the black night
Howl from the pale wight
Gonna play like a banshee,
Like a banshee screamin out
in the blood of the red moon light
Wailin with sustain
Howlin with some gain
I play that funky melody
as the reaper carries me
across the lake to Hades

A lone funky howl from across the hell
Lakefire, barbed wire, scenes from a jail
a prison of the mind, your body and soul
The home of the blues, where you sell it for dough
Rock my flow, sell my soul, lies were told of white gold
Dreamin up a death wish, reaper’s got a guest list
Chllin and fillin up the halls of the restless
Poor Bob at the crossroads flaggin a ride
Ella and Sarah bidin their time
Passin the dime rockin the rhyme
harbinger sign. Hitchin a ride to the end of the line
Muddy gots da mojo, Wolf’s got da evil
Waitin for the wraith, soul cold chill
Hold up. Here comes the banshee wail

Wail in the black night
Howl from the pale wight
Gonna play like a banshee,
Like a banshee screamin out
in the blood of the red moon light
Wailin with sustain
Howlin with some gain
I play that funky melody
as the reaper carries me
across the lake to Hades

I kind of already said it all above, but I just wanted to re-iterate how amazing I think this song is! I love the phrasing of the verse lyrics, and the guitar work throughout. I don't think I've ever heard a jazz guitar holding down a groove in a funk song like this. The rap break was a gambit; it could have been dangerously cheesy, but I think it was really effective, largely due to a complex and varied flow, and some tight spot stacks. The drums are also top notch, and I don't think the song would have worked as well in the hands of a less-skilled drummer (I think they sound like real drums, anyway. If not, then they're extraordinarily well-programmed!). This singer doesn't sound like Frank; did you kick him out of the band?
