I wouldn't bother with the flangey echo on your vocal, you have a good voice no need for that. Feels a bit under-developed. The guitar tone isn't great and the drum machine is a little irritating by the end, but there is something here that appeals to me. The thought that's gone into the little background flashes of goodness, the great abrupt end, those part promises enough that I wouldn't want to vote you off before you've had a bit longer to run at the game. I like the change at 2.00ish very much.

vocally, i think it works pretty well, but the guitar sounds out of tune and kind of ragged. production isn't too bad, although the vocals are a bit louder than the rest of the mix. the arrangement just kind of plods along, but wait....the handclaps just kicked in and that was a nice little bridge. abrupt ending actually works pretty well. honestly dawg, it wasn't the strongest effort of the group but it was ite. it was ite. 😉

The key to convincing drum machine parts is variation in the cymbals and hi hats. If you have the capability (and plan to use the drum machine in the next round,) I'd allow yourself a little time for "humanizing" especially the hi frequency parts.

Pros - Very musically sound...all sorts of I-IV-V variations. Nothing wrong with that, i dont think, as long as you can do something ineresting on top of it. Which is semi-accomplished here. nice "ooo's" on bottom. Also a good use of stereo. and how your voice goes in and out of effect.
cons of course the out-of-tune guitar is really hard to ignore. Very distracting. Somehow, you gotta do something about that. Maybe for your next song, try something a bit more risky, like going out of such a standard chord progession, just to see what you can do (although it being monday, im sure your song is already written 😉 )
The handclaps were well placed
SummaryIt was stacked with potential to be a good little indie tune. Not bad work at all.
