Sister Cocaine
By Steve Durand
Each and every evening I engage in my escapist enterprises
And while it's what I want I wish I would work up the will to wonder why
This infernal institution invites introspection into imperfection
A meager mercy mission meant to medicate my mind
Sister cocaine take my pain away
Don't rain on my parade
The blade awaits to separate the grains
Cousin morphine
you're absorbed into my veins
Fearsome feral phantoms floating freely fall and feed on my frustration
Damned detoxification drives the demons down to dine on my despair
This recent rare remission runs the risk to replay radical regression
And amplifies the angst of which I'm anxiously aware
Sister cocaine take my pain away
Don't rain on my parade
The blade awaits to separate the grains
Cousin morphine
you're absorbed into my veins
