There's a town that lies hidden in yonder hills,
And there's many strange tales they won't tell.
What secrets lay silent in those hidden waters,
In the lake of the town in the hills?
Whose gaze is that you see staring back,
As you ponder your reflection in the pool?
Whose soul doesn't rest; Who whispers in the wind,
By the lake of the town in the hills?
Come lay with me beneath the trees,
This earth forever our bed.
In this shadowed land, you'll take my hand,
We'll dance the waltz of the dead.
I once drifted in without coin to spend.
Lit a fire and made camp by that bank.
The mist did stir, a vision appeared,
A sweet voice was calling my name.
She held my head, gave me bread,
Kisses and wine to my fill.
When morning drew breath we settled to rest
In the lake of the town in the hills.
