Entry from Shock Value in Nur Ein XIV.

Make a song with quiet and loud parts -- like every Pixies song you love. This can mean crescendos or decrescendos, sudden loud noises, whatever, just make good use of dynamics.

total genre shift from your previous track! This is really interesting and stands out from the pack, although it didn't end up being one of the tracks from this round that I thought about much when I wasn't listening. The combination of the two songs I've heard so far (and knowledge that you're a former champ obvz) makes me intrigued to hear more.

Sorry to read about your illness; I hope you feel better. Under the circumstances, I can see why you recorded your song the way you did. The spoken-word stories are interesting (and speaking fast was a good idea), but I didn’t care that much for the underlying music.

I like the intro. Reminds me of bio shock. This is one that I got into the more I listened - musically, I mean. The words are creepy. Reminds me of that Simon and Garfunkel silent night. Are those real stories, or made up?

I’m not totally against spoken word pieces...but damn they better be really well done. With this the music wasn’t bad, but it also didn’t hold my attention throughout. The spoken parts were interesting little nuggets I might want to read in a bathroom reader I suppose. Not sure I was a fan of them being strung together in this format. I’d much rather be transported into story & world you created that might elicit an emotional response. This is like having someone read the subheadlines in their facebook feed to me.

What is even going on here. Is this rap? Whatever it is, it knows what it wants to be and is very in-my-face about it. A great groove/vibe counts for a lot.
