I cant really praise the chanson style of Heid's song without liking this one too. Just not as much. Mainly cos the faux-almost-operatic vocal style choice.
Pareidolia
By Mandibles
The sun is high
There is laughter on the wind
And where am I
Above the playful din
In my bedroom
Where the friends that surround me
Are the faces that I see
They come and go as they please,
My friends in the trees
They come to play
To fill the wiling hours
Then fade away
And I atop my tower
In my bedroom
Find the patterns that they leave
As they hide among the leaves
They come and go as they please,
My friends in the trees
Friendships left behind fall out of memory
And gradually I start to lose the faces for the trees
The forest is a back drop to the years that pass me by
Yet I never wonder why
Now as I work
The blue-lit numbers glaring
And it hurts
My eyes are strained from staring
In my office
The window draws me near
A buried memory appears…
They come and go as they please,
My friends in the trees

I like your voice and the melody. I like how you used the recordings to help with the story. The clipping is distracting and once I heard it I can't unhear it. Takes on a life of it's own.
