Take me to the open sky
away from all this smoke
I’ve been burning all this time
can’t see another way

My father was a private man
his shadow walks with me
when I’ve had as much as I can stand
and my heart's about to break

And the flames begin to rise
until my body and will are torn
there’s no place for us to hide
from this firestorm

and my cheeks are dry

for some kind of sign
praying that my burns wont show
