The Numbers Don't Lie
Berkeley Social Scene

Royal Road is the verse progression of F G Em Am

My silver pistol tongue is firing out phrases
Annie Oakley sharpshooting debate amazes
Word winding word twisting bit after bit
Confounding, flustering you till you quit

Keys hitting hard on old fashioned typewriter
Every one a combination from a champ prizefighter

The numbers don’t lie but I do
Line after line of things that aren’t true

Grappling with your words to jiujitsu you up
Lock you in a figure 4 till you’ve had enough
Come at me if you dare with your your sharpest dis
My biggest weakness is one you always miss

Keys hitting hard on old fashioned typewriter
Every one a combination from a champ prizefighter

The numbers don’t lie but I do
Line after line of things that aren’t true

Keys hitting hard on old fashioned typewriter
Every one a combination from a champ prizefighter

The numbers don’t lie but I do
Line after line of things that aren’t true
The numbers don’t lie but I do
Armies of fact checkers cannot help you through

I like the guitars. Nice bass too. You guys have that "real band" sound that is pretty nice and a big contrast with most of us who sound like one person recording everything in layers. The pre-chorus is pretty catchy. Probably my favorite bit.

Dig the jangly guitars and driving bass… and the synth solo part. Prefer the verses over the chorus… Thanks for tightening up the structure.
