Pistols At Dawn
by Max Bombast
I came riding into town
On the trail I was hunting down
A bounty worth a thousand pounds of gold
I stepped into the old saloon
And saw my mark whom I presume
Must be a cowboy near a century old
and I said
Put 'em up to the sky
The wanted sign said dead or alive
And I know which one I'd choose
If I were you
The ancient rider looked through me
With milky eyes that did not see
And said only a showdown will settle this
I said
Then I'll meet you at high noon
Right out front of this saloon
And we'll see who is quick and who is dead
He said
By noon I'll be on my way to bed
Look at me man, I am almost dead
If I gotta go make it pistols at dawn
