I wanna get lost in media
but curse my indecision
the same thing happens every time
I use my television
so many ways to waste my life
but in each one I reckon
that every frame contains your face
and there’s twenty-four per second

You’re not really there, of course
but something in me cracked
I see you in an explosion
or on George Clooney’s back

I thought I could drown you out but
I swear I heard your voice on the radio
You know that it’s beyond doubt
I'm sure I saw your face in a video
So what the hell am I to do
In everything I still see you

Music fills the empty void
but it sticks in my throat
when I can hear you whisper
in the gaps between the notes
saying things that only you
would ever think to say
and so I find my shaking hand
unable to press play

I know these sounds aren’t really
in the songs that I am playing
but bouncing round the chambers
of my broken brain
