Sometimes my life in this town
Is awfully hard
Sometimes it throws a sharp right to the jaw
If I let down my guard

But I can take care of myself
Yeah, I’ve got a plan
I’m starting to fix up a new bag of tricks
As fast as I can

See, I signed up for night school
On Tuesdays and Thursdays
I’ll learn me some Spanish from Señor McLean
Then I’ll move to Majorca
And help pick the olives
And say sayonara to life in Fort Wayne

Sometimes it seems like my plan
Might not come to pass
I will admit these irregular verbs
Are kicking my ass

I just need to take a deep breath
And climb out of bed
Then come snow, sleet or rain, like a runaway train
I’m full speed ahead

I will finish up night school
On Tuesdays and Thursdays
Learn all the Spanish from Señor McLean
Then I’ll move to Majorca
And help pick the olives
And say sayonara to life in Fort Wayne
