Balance Lost
Guess what the song is called

Liner notesMy first song was about my balls. My second song was about my bumhole. This song is about my perineum.

Looks like I've nailed this liner notes business.

Neon reflections in your eyes
The windshield shows a vacant sky
That rains down nothing on the lives
Of the inhabitants
Yet somehow they seem satisfied
There's nothing you can show
That I've not seen before
I've lived a hundred lives
And there's yet more to be endured
Until I've had my time

So many dreams torn down
And so many cars burned out
When you drag me around this town

Lead me down this labyrinth
It's been an eternity since
These tunnels were my home
I used to know every inch
But now they're crumbling, overgrown
A long days walk into the night
Now you're the only point of light
Where once there were a hundred
Thousand fireflies

So many dreams torn down
And so many cars burned out
When you drag me around this town
You drag me around this town
So many dreams torn down
And so many cars burned out
When you drag me around this town

Pretty but bland. I didn't mind it at all.

I appreciate that you bridged the songs backward, which was an approach to the challenge that I hadn't thought of! (I assumed that the sequence of songs would be "Semiprecious," "Drag Me Around," "Pareidolia" in all cases.) I unfortunately didn't have time to give this a close enough listen to piece the narrative together, so I'm not sure if your take goes beyond the musical intro-outro. As for how this stands as a piece unto itself, I do like it, but I think the intro-outro noodling sort of took the place of your usual melodic panache, because it feels like this is missing something compared to other Balance Lost songs I've enjoyed better.
