We Need to Talk

When we fell in love
Every part of me felt unworthy of you

Reaching out to begin
Entertaining thoughts I had never considered
Analyzing what's within
Loving everything you bring to this
Like a window to a wall. (I need to talk to you, I'm the one for you, you're the one for me, I need to talk to you)
You let the light in. (I need to talk to you, I'm the one for you, you're the one for me, I need to talk to you)

Never felt this way before
Every moment so alive
Embracing arms side by side
Days are blurring into endless nights

Too many feelings to express
Overjoyed and relentless

Pity that there is a silence
In bed we sleep back to back
Love is more than coexistence
Let me know how we got to this
Over thinking your resistance (I need to talk to you, you're the one for me, I'm the one for you, I need to talk to you)
Wanting just to put an end to this (I need to talk to you, you're the one for me, I'm the one for you, I need to talk to you)

Talk to me like you did before
Always saying what I want to hear
Let me think that what you say is true
Keeping me coming back for more

Maybe some things don't last for life
Or what I'm feeling isn’t true
Running out of excuses for
Erasing all that we've been through (We need to talk)

Baby I couldn't live without it
Any substitute won't do (We need to talk)
Born so perfect you are my only one
Yes I'll always listen to you

We need to talk

(I am not objective, I'm too close to it, of course I THINK it's perfect)

A solo where I lift the melody directly from the vocal? Tried my best to be "melodic", I'm proud of the solo composition. Solo = 10
We had no less than 5 people working together on a google doc. Erin, Ken and Jenn with the content, Martin and Glen curbing the structure. Lyrics = 10
Everybody needs to learn how to make their kick sound this good. Ken just rules! A band is only as good as the drummer. Drums =10
Sam busted out, vibes, rhythm guitar, Glock. He's just an awesome studio cat. Everything is played perfectly! Rhythm stuff = 10
Out of the gate Erin sounds like she really means it. Martin is reigned in and solid. they both really kicked ass on this performance! Vocals = 10
Much effort went into preserving the spaces in the acrostic phrase, having it relate to the lyrics, and keeping the lyrics meaningful. Challenge =10
Ending the song with mostly vocals was a brilliant idea, I think Kens idea. Structure = 10
Given the schedule this last week, Sam was actually the producer. Fantastic result. Lots of work, I'm wildly impressed! Mix = 10

score 100 (but I can't objectively judge myself nor my band)

Great songs this week. No idea what will happen. Quality stuff at this juncture. I guess I'm worried for Jon Eric's performance, Therman's challenge, and Chris Cogotts lyrics. But all 3 of those have strong enough songs to survive. We'll see how the judges feel.

Good luck everyone!
