it's cool to hear a totally different style from you already, this is only the second 8th Grade Team song that I've heard and you're already subverting my expectations. The simple, strong melody and gentle instrumentation reminded me of children's music, although the effected vocals maybe get more into psychedelic territory, it's an interesting arrangement either way. The effected vocals work well when used sparingly but feel a bit overdone when they're used for a longer line before the second chorus, IMO. The lyrics are mostly good and a fine take on the challenge but I find the opening line of the chorus really offputting. Despite having issues with this song I did find it very interesting and I'm curious to hear what you do next.

I’m glad to see a total change in direction from last week’s song--shows some range--but this week’s entry wasn’t up my alley either. That hi-hat is way too loud, I really don’t really understand what you were going for musically and aesthetically, and the repeated use of “vomit” in the chorus is unpleasant. But nice vocal, aside from a pitchy moment or two, clearly defined melody, and it sounded original.

I like the 50s/BioShock vibe of this song, but the chorus feels a bit long and drawn out. Specifically, I think the "this is the best part" over and over again get to be a bit much. I think the cleanliness of the production also played against you. Part of the charm of a 50s-esque song (to me, at least) is some of that grainy distortion that sits on top of it all. I liked it overall, and I hope you continue to submit entries for us to hear!

no lyrics posted! 🙁 I found this utterly charming! A song about parachuting, done in the style of a kids song. It’s fun. I really like your wide panned distorted vocals, and the ‘this is the best/worst part’ is my favorite. The song is seems simple, but you put in little details that are really scrumptious, like the low harmony in the second verse. I would have ranked this higher, but hey, I am not a judge!
