Where the Streets Have No Name

People talk to me but I don't speak the language
Like the streets where I'm living I do not have a name

Where the streets have no name I'n anonymous
And I'll be safely out of their reach

Wrong place wrong time that's all it was
No time to argue or discuss
I'm going where I don't exist
I wish it hadn't come to this
But I'm out of time
Gotta leave this life behind
Leave it behind, yeah

Pushed the car off a cliff and I saw it soaring
And as far as they know I was behind the wheel

Where the streets have no name I'n anonymous
And I'll BE safely out of their reach

Wrong place wrong time that's all it was
No time to argue or discuss
I'm going where I don't exist
I wish it hadn't come to this
But I'm out of time
Gotta leave this life behind
Leave it behind, yeah

Shady figures suspect
I saw too much
It isn't safe any more
I think I'm being watched
I'm being watched

On my own chilling out trying to mind my business
When I saw something that nobody wants to see

Where the streets have no name I'm anonymous
And I might find a moment of peace

Wrong place wrong time that's all it was
No time to argue or discuss
I'm going where I don't exist
I wish it hadn't come to this
But I'm out of time
Gotta leave this life behind
Leave it behind, yeah
Leave it behind, yeah

I wasn't here, I wasn't close
You never saw me, I'm a ghost

interesting take on the title, good lyrics and some gorgeous vocal melodies and harmonies. Oddly though I'm not that into the synth arrangement despite being heavily genre-biased towards synthpop. I think the sounds feel a little too aggressive for the song, I'd like to hear some warmer synth tones and a little more layering perhaps. I did really like the very ending, that closing line and the way the track drops out is very effective.

You’ve brought a wide range of sounds to this Nur Ein. This is another one that I really like. The story was simple & easy to follow even backwards. The vocals were lovely at the end of the chorus. My only minor complaint is that the music got a little too repetitive for me, but it was still interesting enough that it wasn’t a big deal. This one has singability for me, and sticks in my brain.
