The groove you create with the backwards sounds right off the top is really nice. Way to embrace the title, with the whole superstitious, feeling lucky vibe. You also used a counter-melody with the "things are going my way" contrasting the main verse melody. It's weird that once you start really thinking about counter-melodies you start to hear them everywhere. In fact, there are three melodies going on at once towards the end, "not looking backward / only going forward", "feeling lucky, got my fingers crossed", and "things are going my way". Man the competition is fierce.
