Entry from All Hail the Snake in Nur Ein VIII.

Collaboration with someone's mom

LyricsShow lyrics

there was no blindfold
but i couldn't see

there was no cage
but i wasn't free

i didn't know
what i know now

i found the courage
to pick that apple somehow

all hail the snake that helped me see
all hail misery

she was a lovely girl
i wanted to leave

we found some happiness
happiness ain't for me

she had so much faith
and i couldn't believe

she gave me everything
but nothing in that tree

all hail the snake that helped me see
all hail misery
all hail the snake that set me free
all hail misery

(IT'S THE GARDEN OF EDEN AND THEN IT TURNS INTO A METAPHOR FOR MY LAST RELATIONSHIP AND THERE ARE DUAL MEANINGS FOR THINGS)

I like this, but somewhat reluctantly. Nice that you obliged with the immunity round submission, anway. What I am struck by most here is the singing. I like the held notes and the emotion comes through despite the boxey sound. OK. Not get over it and move on. 🙂

Good effort to try something slightly out of your comfort zone. You do the lounge singer angle very well and the chords, arrangement and vocal inflections are all in the right place. Well done.

Mrsnaei: Nice switch of style. It goes without saying that everything sounds lovely. Kudos for making it sound so effortless, like it's the kind of thing you do all the time.
