Silver Tongue
by John Kloberdanz
Voices by John Kloberdanz and the Kloberdanz Family
With the assistance of The Electric Company
Parrot: "Who is it?"
Plumber: "It's the plumber, I've come to fix the sink."
John: I came home like any other day
Nothing seemed different from the same
But there was a note with a bag of my clothes
It said, "We decided you're to blame"
I thought that things were fine around the house
A lovely wife and two wonderful kids
I asked my oldest son what was wrong
Jack, can you tell me what I did?
Jack: We don't need you anymore
Since the plumber knocked on the door
He''ll be a better dad than you ever might
He'll fix the toilet and clean the pipes
John: His silver tongue like stainless steel
He stole my family
Jack, my boy, give me another chance
Come over here and talk to me
Jack: I can't give you another chance
Our names' no longer Kloberdanz
You were O.K. for a while
But now the plumber makes Mom smile
John: He plunged his way right through my heart
Buying love with a new bathtub
His voice so smooth and his words so fine
They're all happy in their rub-a-dub
Family: We're three happy in the tub
Rub-a-dub, rub-a-dub
Mom's new dishwasher is great
Dad, you were second rate
(John cries)
Lady of the house: "Who is it?"
Parrot: "It's the plumber, he's come to fix the sink!"
