The cracks in the sidewalk
hold the secrets to eventuality

It's an uphill battle
the passage of time
a symptom of encroaching entropy

Everywhere the enemy of life
tugs on the cell walls
and the lines on your face

All around we fight the influence
of the cold grip of outer space

I'm just counting sidewalk cracks
in between certain death and taxes
I could go anywhere on the globe
but I got busted concrete on m y frontal lobe
thinking 'bout that slip of green
coming up from in between
When everybody knows this is pointless
on nothing but hope one persists

confronted early by a seemingly cruel god

Superstitious will
got him dying on an egotistical hill
world tilts on a foot fall
