Forum postI think there is something musically complex taking place in the verse but perhaps not nailing it down entirely. The mix is good, the instrumentation is pleasant together but clashes discordantly in places.
Flower Moon
The one by Eric Novak
It's the cleanest thing you ever did see
No air of dusky mystery
In the steely light of the flower moon
I stepped away from the past
The air was heavy but still and sure
The silence damp, holy and pure
I brought the knife, the knife called the tune
As I cut a way out at last
Carried along in a twilight like silver
The rain just a mist to lay dust in the shade
And the shadow that crossed under clouds on the river
And sentenced my love to her death on the lake
Knives out - blood sings out louder
Pounding in my ears and coming out in the night
Knives out - nothing else is happening
I'm the author of a tragedy in watery moonlight
I guess what I am is what I do next
And that way lies redemption
In one year's time, the next flower moon
How will I answer at last?
"I was dragged along in the steely light
dragged by my own conviction
To see it through, wrong or right
and cut a way out of the past"
Carried along in a twilight like silver
The rain just a mist to lay dust in the shade
And the shadows that crossed under clouds on the river
And sentenced my love to her death on the lake
Knives out - blood sings out louder
Pounding in my ears and coming out in the night
Knives out - nothing else is happening
I'm the author of a tragedy in watery moonlight
Knives out
