nice jazzy groove that is accentuated by the roughness of the instrumentation (or is it the mix?) in contrast. A little long without a big bombastic chorus maybe.

man, the fact that you gig regularly is so obvious to me, as your stuff always sounds very well put together as a package. great arrangement man. this has this cool bossanova feel to it, and i'm almost wishing for some female harmonies. really nicely done jim. and again, nice subtle use of the fake claps. in fact, maybe the best use of claps yet, as it's so subtle and fits so well. and i still owe you that bottle of 2 buck chuck. 🙂
I like the sound of it so far. Really cool. If it keeps this up and keeps my attention, it could definitely be a favorite. It did! Great job! I don't know if I can offer any suggestions ... other than keep it up. I give it a 100%.
This is full of great hooks! "As good as dead to me" is a sweet lyric, especially the way you syncopate it. Fantastic song, man.
Pros - Very nice feel. Nice Melody choice over a nice set of chords. Adding the bit of piano sound was really nice. The synth hum..it will end up in my cons as well, cause I think it was a good choice, but (see below), the piano solo is a nice play on that keyboard. NIce latin jazzy feel to it. Your voice is spot on.
Cons Just that I thought the synth maybe was a bit much, and woulda been better if used a bit more sparingly
The Handclaps were Disposable, but didnt hurt the song
Summary Extremely nice work, in my top 3 so far
