The Usual Bravura
by Merisan
It’s been a few months now
We’ve been around a while
We’ve sat and sipped in cafes
Studied one another's smile
Everything looks romantic
When your eyes are full
Of someone elses magic
You can feel a little pull
And against my better judgement, I wait
Oh my heartstrings are tethered and strained
Leather ribbons reaching out for truth
Will it be the usual bravura
Or will I give it all to you
Headed into the night
Passed the crowded bars
And empty laundromats
Under the fading stars
But I don’t know where I’m going
And you seem to be just fine
I’m the one with all the questions
You’re the one with all the time
I never knew that staying still was so hard
Oh my heartstrings are tethered and strained
Leather ribbons reaching out for truth
Will it be the usual bravura
Or will I give it all to you
Seems I haven’t scared you off
You’re too kind to run away
Showed you what’s behind the curtain
Despite everything you stay
And my show it still plays daily
I’m the virtuoso act
But you see through my illusions
Separating lies from fact
And against your better judgement, you wait.
Oh my heartstrings are tethered and strained
Leather ribbons reaching out for truth
Will it be the usual bravura
Or will I give it all to you
Oh my heartstrings are tethered and strained
Leather ribbons reaching out for truth
Will it be the usual bravura
Or will I give it all to you
Or will I give it all to you
