CHORUS
Lose that negativity
Gain some positivity
Pump the brakes
and you will see
you're better not
so angry
VERSE 1
There's a source of great affliction
when outrage becomes addiction
it's easy to turn up your nose
turning strangers to your foes
so work harder not to harbor
communication goes much farther
get rid of that ugly habit now
[It has been brought to my attention, ladies and gentlemen, that we still have negativity in the room. I hear some diss tracks, and it sounds more like a distraction. Let us bring this positivity to a maximum. Let us come down one final time on the true enemy: The thing that keeps us down deep in the shadows]
VERSE 2
Now I don't think I'm better than you
Because positivity's the name of my tune
let's work through this bane together
We all have sun and stormy weather
don't use anger as a crutch
Let's work to build each other up
Even if we do not always exactly agree

HELLO! This is really strange, in a good way. Love a bit of fake vocal brass! Definitely stands out from the pack musically, and the lyrics are clever too. I want to see a full stage production of this, I hope you busted out some moves while recording it.
The anti diss track? I can maybe see how this technically meets the challenge, but you’re stretching it a little too much for my liking. Just based off the music, lyrics and performance I’d have to rank this pretty high. But I’m also factoring in the challenge, and you’re getting dinged hard for that. Just know that I enjoyed the song, despite where it is in my rankings. Sometimes it’s worth walking right up to that line & maybe going over...sometimes it’s not. Good luck with the other judges.
Sorry to see you're out--I hope you keep submitting shadow entries. I thought this song delightful and your ranking was unjust! (Although it was also probably more a reflection of how many good submissions there were this round than of yours not being up to par.) Quirky, charming, and distinctive, excellent vocal performances throughout (shoutouts to the mouth trumpet, I LOVED the mouth trumpet; the spoken word in the middle, which was delivered really cleanly; and the background wailing behind the 2nd chorus, which I'm not sure I've seen anyone mention yet but it's GREAT!) I also really enjoyed the positive message and the "diss-tracktion" pun; I thought the lyrics were well put together in general--although I would not have categorized this as a diss track either.
