Fast Lane Junkies
by Merisan

There’s a man in town
got a new model-T
thinks he’s made of money
but he don’t fool me

Rambling on Main Street
he struts the scene
turned in his cologne
for some gasoline

Slow down Daddy, you move too fast
Don’t you know this life ain't gonna last
Got the devil in you, and that shiny steel
With your eyes on the road, but his hand on the wheel.

Oh the times have changed
I suppose they should
we got book learned people
doing lot’s of good

But the world ain't made
of paper and glue
If a man’s gonna sin
That’s just what he’ll do

Slow down Daddy, you move too fast
Don’t you know this life ain't gonna last
Got the devil in you, and that shiny steel
With your eyes on the road, but his hand on the wheel.

Oh the whiskey runs red
under the cover of night
All you fast lane junkies
gonna see the light

cause a man can’t resist
all that power and speed
and what started as fun
has turned into need

and what started as fun
has turned into need

and what started as fun
has turned into need

Slow down Daddy, you move too fast
Don’t you know this life ain't gonna last
Got the devil in you, and that shiny steel
With your eyes on the road, but his hand on the wheel.

Slow down Daddy, you move too fast
Don’t you know this life ain't gonna last
Got the devil in you, and that shiny steel
With your eyes on the road, but his hand on the wheel.

Well executed song. The challenge tacked on the end seemed a little limp on first pass, but I'm on my second pass and it's growing on me.

Not got much to say about this. It all sounds well done and the mix is nice and clear.

Packet of Stink: That is a pretty awesome bassline. I like all the guitars here from the crunchy riffage of the chorus to those haunted squeals (which remind me of RATM's Settle For Nothing). Doing double time in the bridge was a smart move, it's cool when it breaks down into that heavy stomp in the chorus. Good song you douche.

Richard Nick Soma: I would have preferred this with some fuzz bass at the beginning. Still, you are annoyingly better than me at some crucial things, such as singing, writing songs and production. Catchy, dynamic and interesting use of a clavinet.

Some people took this title/challenge as an excuse to break out the electric guitars, but you guys kicked it old school, turning out an old style swing tune. I love that. I especially love Sam echoing the last line of the chorus; it's reminiscent of Cab Calloway. This is another song that the challenge may not have helped - this would have been a perfectly fine song even if it had ended on that last normal-time chorus, and as fun as the double-time once-more of the chorus might be, it strikes me as kind of tacked-on and unnecessary.
