Pop Machine - "First Blood"

The generalization of the optimum demodulator
Interjected to the case of M-ary orthogonal signals
Is straightforward.

If the equal energy and equally probable
signal waveforms are represented as
SMT of the real SLMT times e
to the j2 pi frequency of t

Frequency of t
Frequency of t

Well, SLMT of the equivalent
low pass signals
of the optimum correlation type
or matched filter type
demodulator produces the m-complex
random variables

I said the random variables

RM plus RLT plus jRMS
(where RLT is the equivalent low-pass recieved signal)

The low-pass received signal!

then the optimum detector based on random uniformally distributed carrier phase
computes the m-envelopes
or, equivalently the squared envelopes
and selects the signal with the largest envelope.

Envelope!

Well, you certainly got the "educational" requirement out of the way, but I have to admit that a lot of this went right over my head, so I didn't really get much out of it. It's musically-executed well enough, and you had enough panache to know to add elements of musicality to the otherwise dry lyrics (in particular, I liked the "Frequency of T! Frequency of T!" part), but I don't think I'll remember much of anything about this track two or three weeks later.
