with excessive reasoning

i look at the sky
i look at my beaten hands
all that concerns me
is living off this here land

treading carefully
first we could crawl
then we could stand
walking upright
guns in our hands

then we could fly
higher than air
through the unknown
to find a new lair
First we could talk
Then we could discuss
Somewhere along
We learned how to distrust

Then we would lie
So much we believed it
Caught in our webs
And praising false prophets

i found some food
i found some water
i found a tool
to make me get stronger

I found the moon
I found an asteroid
Flying through space
Watching the earth be destroyed

first we could crawl
then we could stand
walking upright
guns in our hands

then we could fly
Much higher than air
through the unknown
to find a new lair

now we know best
killing the rest of them
we call the shots
we are the nephalim

Maybe it's good
Or maybe it's shameful
