I Don't Want An Answer To That
by Merisan
Oh ho
How can I ease your storm?
Well I don’t want an answer to that
‘cause it might mean something's wrong.
We both know
that changes never come
so easy, and it feels like
the remedy won't last long
I know you’ve been down
pushed around and feeling weak
Just ask your precious soul
if it’s loud enough to speak
Oh ho
We struggle back and forth
fighting in a tug of war but
it’s stranger than when we don’t
Time slows
It all falls through the floor
It’s not a credible threat
Just to know you want something more
I know you’ve been down
pushed around and feeling weak
Just ask your precious soul
if it’s loud enough to speak
I know you’ve been down
pushed around and feeling weak
Just ask your precious soul
if it’s loud enough to speak

This was a strong week for most of the entrants. Many of them managed to top themselves in some entertaining ways. But Merisan brought their game to another level. This song is gorgeous. I love the four-part harmonies. I love the eggshaker and handclaps. I love the integration of past Song Fight titles. I love the subtle lead guitar line. I love the organ solo. I love the "ba-da-da" coda. There's pretty much nothing I don't love about this song. If there's any justice in the world, you'll get immunity this week. Enjoy it.
