Forum postIt's songs like this that remind me why you're my favourite lyricist on SF. There's a great song here but it lacks any kind of production value, it would almost be better without the hi-hats. They don't really add anything.
Entry from I Don't Want An Answer To That in Nur Ein VIII.
Incorporate a Songfight title meaningfully in the lyrics.
I Don't Want an Answer to That by Tubba Gutz
I've been at this game since I sang in Block City,
back when I was still in high school and all of my meals were free
I thought that would be forever, things would be handed to me
so I never worked for anything, and I could never see
how in college I would hit the wall and end up in the shit
how the people who were working hard would stop to laugh at it
how I stayed in bed and gained weight, always writing stupid songs
knowing one day my ride would show up and I would tag along
through the stadiums and interviews, the weight loss and the tabloid news
the alcohol and cigarettes, well some of it came true I guess
I'm not Bruno Mars, I'm not even Pauly Shore,
sometimes people start with nothing and end up with so much more
I had every option open to me, keys to every door
I have blown so many chances, I know nothing is for sure
but if one have them had panned out maybe I would know what for
what for spending every dollar I made at the liquor store
what for spending every minute stacking up all my excuses
what for treating those who love me to my bullshit and abuses
what for waking up a millionaire, like it was just a snap, but
why did it never happen, I don't want an answer to that.

You've got some really awkward scansion, emphasizing the wrong syllables in a word or the wrong word in a sentence. "Things would BE handED to ME" is probably the most glaring example. I like the line "I'm not Bruno Mars, I'm not even Pauly Shore." If you used a Song Fight title, I missed it. Never mind, "Block City." Ignore my idiocy and carry on.
