Shadow

These are the bots I know I know
These are the bots I know
These are the bots I know I know
These are the bots I know
These are the bots I've come to know
These are the bots I know
These are the bots I've come to know-ow-ow

There are robots with robot arms
There are robots with wheels for legs
There are robots that make the cars
And then robots to drive away
And then write their dreams in the stars
With a code they can't explain
There are robots to make the steel
And then robots to seed the rain

These are the bots I know etc.

There are robots to help farm teeth
And thank God those robots can't feel pain
There are robots that see your soul
And then wonder what belongs to them
There are robots that cry fake tears
To see what tears might entail
There are robots that go too far
And then robots that can't be blamed

These are the bots I know etc.

There are no baby robots that I've met
Maybe baby robots don't exist

There are robots, they're made of stone
Grinding down into a quiet age
Their teeth are gumming up with sand
Spots of oil slowly seep away
They learned so much of nature
And never a bit of nurture
And no matter what might take place
These robots never seem to pray

These are the bots I know etc.

submitting while you're immune, hell yeah. Pro move! This is a lot of fun, I was not familiar with the song you're riffing on here but now that I am, I think you'd done a good job borrowing from it without just feeling like a straight cover, you've added your own odd feel to it. Not sure it'd be a smart move borrowing from an existing song if this was in competition but totally fine choice for a shadow. I think this is your best vocal so far too.

The lyrics are pretty cool despite the borrowed chorus. https://youtu.be/8nvzEqsZIGo I still think this was an immunity move. You’re flexing and flaunting your win. I do appreciate you submitting a song when you didn’t have to. This is when I make my annual complaint and rule change suggestion : “Why does immunity mean you’re immune from winning also? Why not just immune from losing?”

Re: my chorus - while acknowledging the fact that I seem to have cribbed this from Kids In the Hall - it was in fact totally unintentional. I have seen this sketch, but my best estimate is that I saw it 20 years ago. When I came up with it (originally it was "these are the drunks I know"-a different direction for the song) it sounded familiar but I thought it was something traditional, and not a classic, very funny sketch. Brains are mysterious! I'm glad of immunity this round, but overall this was a sincere entry, with maybe a bit less angst as I finished it up. The one true immunity move was allowing myself not to worry about putting "partly fiction" in the lyrics.
