Rebecca faltered at the alley corner
She heard a sound just like a scraping knife
Three men surrounded her and cocked their pistols
Your money or your life

But why would anybody ever want to come between
Bullets and lovers?

Her boyfriend David waited all his life for
A perfect moment such as this today
He curled his fingers and he clenched his muscles
And leapt into the fray

There was a witness who produced a cell phone
And with it dialed out to 911
But by the time the cops at last arrived there
The evidence was gone
