Floating In the Water
by Elks of the Economy

He said he'd sail around the world
Heading west to the East
The Spanish flag was soon unfurled
On the masts of the fleet

Floating in the water
We find our destiny
Floating in the water
Of the deep blue sea

He said he'd swim across the lake
From the east to the west
He didn't know how long it would take
He'd put his body to the test

Floating in the water
We find our destiny
Floating in the water
Of the deep blue sea

2021 was a very good year
He learned to swim by overcoming his fear
That a creature of the deep would pull him under its wake
Jesus Christ was gonna keep him safe

He thought the trip was going well
He found the strait of All Saints
But only time would tell
If he would make it back to Spain

Floating in the water
We find our destiny
Floating in the water
Of the deep blue sea

1521 was a very bad year
Lapulapu didn't wanna join the European sphere
Mactan saw a battle that would seal his fate
Jesus Christ couldn't keep him safe

He'd swam three quarters of the way
When he ran out of breath
And at the end of the day
No one was around to record his death

Floating in the water
We find our destiny
Floating in the water
Of the deep blue sea

i'm really happy with how this mix came out although it sounds like i could have mastered it a bit louder compared to everything that's played so far. i miss the days when my voice didn't get worn out so quickly. props to my bandmates for great performances and mix direction.

Future Boy and Friends. This has loads of Future Boy greatness going on. No offense to the other Song Fight Titans in this supergroup, but this one sounds very Future Boy! This is awesome! One of my favorites of the round for sure! Sweet jazz chords! Awwww no real solo? Booo! That sweet guitar tone was such a tease. Come on! 8 bars? Nearly perfect song, minus points for no real solo. Sweet JB and FB vocals!

I was a bit worried when I first listened to this as I thought the quality of music coming from you was in freefall. Thankfully repeated listens on headphones reveals subtle pleasures hidden in this track. I find it amusing that you've made your narratives exactly 500 years apart; challenge box ticked. This has a bit of a Prefab Sprout feel about it. It's full of cheesy quirks in the arrangement which bely a nuanced songwriting acumen. The dynamic shifts between the verses and choruses give a good sense of movement. I can't say if I like the chord progressions per se, but there's something compelling about the song that keeps my intrigue growing with each listen. There are loads of tiny guitar licks hiding behind the vocals that add a nice colour. The more I listen to this the more I think it's a very good song.
